Mission & Vision

We promote local and regional connectedness by supporting initiatives, associations, municipalities, and individuals in bringing their local history to life and strengthening community cohesion in North Rhine-Westphalia. Our mission is to convey a sense of home as a quality of life and to raise awareness of regional distinctiveness.

Target groups

Depending on the funding module, the program is aimed at clubs, organizations, initiatives, and private individuals (Heimat-Scheck, Heimat-Zeugnis), municipalities and district administrations (Heimat-Preis, Heimat-Fonds, Heimat-Werkstatt), as well as non-profit and private sponsors who work on local history or initiate community dialogues (Heimat-Werkstatt). In addition, all applicants with projects to strengthen regional identity and to secure reliable overall financing for their initiatives can apply for funding.
