About the funder

The Allianz Foundation is an independent, legally capable foundation under civil law, headquartered at Pariser Platz in Berlin. It was established in 2022 through the merger of the Allianz Environmental Foundation (founded in 1989) and the Allianz Cultural Foundation (founded in 2000). The foundation supports civil society, cultural, and ecological projects in Europe and the Mediterranean region to promote equal opportunities, open societies, and a livable planet. Operationally and in terms of funding, the Allianz Foundation supports risktakers – courageous individuals and initiatives – through fellowship programs (Fellows), studies, networks (Hubs), and regular calls for proposals.
