Department 4 is committed to ensuring that all children, adolescents, and families in Carinthia experience optimal conditions for a violence-free, equitable, and supportive upbringing. Through coordinated cooperation between the state administration, district administrative authorities, and social institutions, the quality of child and youth welfare services is continuously developed. Our goal is to promote equality, make support services available at an early stage, and facilitate private investments in family- and disability-friendly services.

The funding and support services of Department 4 are aimed at families with children and adolescents in Carinthia, private child and youth welfare institutions, as well as providers of socio-educational services, professionals and institutions in the field of child protection and youth welfare, and individuals entitled to benefits under the Carinthian Equal Opportunities Act.
