Mission & Vision
The staff of Department 9 are committed to ensuring the safe usability of transport routes at all times and maintaining traffic and operational safety. They are responsible for the Carinthian state road and cycle path network as well as the associated structures, take environmental protection and energy efficiency into account in planning and operations, and provide early and objective information. The department strives for effective, transparent, economical, and sustainable task fulfillment, continuously improves within the certified quality and energy management systems (ISO 9001 / ISO 50001), and acts in the shared interest of customers, partners, and the public – including prompt support in the event of natural disasters.
Target groups
Department 9 addresses all users of the state road network in Carinthia: this includes public institutions (federal and state authorities, municipalities), transport companies, construction and engineering offices, vehicle manufacturers and workshops, as well as private and commercial road users. It supports technicians and experts in the fields of structural engineering, bridge inspection, and road operations, and provides permits and technical consultations for approval- and traffic-related projects.
