The Department of Integrated Traffic Planning and Public Transport aims to promote sustainable, safe, and environmentally friendly mobility in Upper Austria. Through integrated traffic concepts and the expansion of public transport services, the quality of life for people is to be enhanced and CO₂ emissions in the transport sector reduced. With foresight and cooperation among all stakeholders, we contribute to a future-proof infrastructure and an efficient transport network.

The funding and planning activities of the department are aimed at municipalities, transport associations, transport companies, and planning offices in Upper Austria. Citizens, commuters, and businesses also benefit from improved bus and rail connections as well as a safe road network. The goal is to optimally serve all user groups of public and individual transport – from students and commuters to tourists – and to strengthen public transport as an attractive alternative to private transport.
