About the funder

The Directorate for Environment and Water Management is one of ten directorates within the Office of the Upper Austrian State Government and consolidates the responsibilities and expertise for environmental and water protection at the state level in Upper Austria. It is divided into four departments (Plant, Environmental and Water Law; Environmental, Construction and Plant Engineering; Environmental Protection; Water Management) and its core tasks include the development and monitoring of environmental and water law permits, the planning and implementation of flood protection and risk management measures, as well as the professional advice to municipalities, companies, and citizens on all matters of environmental and water management.
