About the funder
The Amt of the Styrian Provincial Government, Department 12 Economy, Tourism, Science and Research, is the central funding agency of the State of Styria for research and scientific projects. It manages the program lines for the promotion of Styrian universities, research institutions, and scientific associations and simultaneously serves as the office of the Zukunftsfonds Steiermark as well as the Forschungsrat Steiermark. The department supports scientific publications, events, young talent promotion programs, and international cooperations, thereby overseeing the scientific infrastructure and knowledge transfer within the state.

Mission & Vision
The Department of Science and Research sees itself as a service center and hub within the regional research network: We promote excellent research and strengthen the international competitiveness of the Styrian research location. As the office of the Future Fund and the Styrian Research Council, we act as coordinators for project funding, strive for sustainable development, and bring together research, business, and society.
Target groups
The funding programs are aimed at Styrian scientific institutions in the university and non-university sectors, at universities, universities of applied sciences, research institutions, scientific associations, and individuals (researchers, especially early-career scientists). Eligible to apply are institutions and individuals with their main residence or headquarters in Styria who wish to carry out innovative research, publication, and event projects.
