The Amt of the Styrian Provincial Government, Department 12 – Economy, Tourism, Science and Research, is a specialized department of the Styrian state administration. It is responsible for the development and implementation of funding programs to strengthen the regional economy, the development and promotion of tourism, as well as the support of scientific and research-oriented projects. Its tasks include, among others, the management of the innovation program for the tourism and leisure industry, the recognition of breeding organizations, the Single Point of Contact (EAP) for businesses and cross-border service procedures, as well as the administration of registers for building experts and mountain hiking guides.

Guidelines, funding programs, and services of Department 12 are aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), founders and established businesses in the tourism and leisure industry, animal breeding organizations and agricultural associations, scientific institutions and research facilities, as well as registered experts and mountain and ski guides.
