About the funder
Department 14 – Water Management, Resources, and Sustainability of the Styrian Provincial Government is responsible for the strategic planning, technical supervision, and financial support of projects in the areas of water supply, wastewater disposal, aquatic ecology, flood protection, and landscape water engineering. As a state authority, it implements the legal frameworks – in particular the Environmental Promotion Act (UFG) and the Water Construction Promotion Act (WBFG) – and provides funding for municipal authorities, water cooperatives, and competition participants.

Mission & Vision
Department 14 promotes sustainable and inclusive water management in Styria to ensure the long-term security of supply, water quality, and ecological functionality of our water bodies. We strive for close cooperation with municipalities, water cooperatives, and specialized institutions to implement innovative measures for the protection and responsible use of the valuable resource water.
Target groups
Our funding programs are primarily aimed at municipal authorities and district administrations, water cooperatives, land consolidation and amalgamation communities, operators of drinking water supply and wastewater facilities, participants in aquatic ecological projects, as well as natural and legal persons involved in small-scale landscape water management measures.
