Child education and care facilities support, promote, and care for children up to the age of 14. Department IIa is responsible for the professional management and promotion of kindergartens, after-school care centers, and school-based care services, as well as for the development of educational guidelines, training and further education programs for professional staff, and the implementation of societal educational objectives in Vorarlberg.

Department IIa is aimed at children from 0 to 14 years of age and their families, as well as at providers and operators of early childhood and school care services in Vorarlberg. It supports educators, institutions, and municipalities in the planning, funding, and quality development of early childhood education and all-day care at schools.
