Private foundation

About the funder

The Andreas August Friedrich Nissen and Alwine Schulze-Nissen Foundation was established in 1963 based on the legacy of Alwine Schulze-Nissen. Its origins trace back to the Hamburg construction entrepreneur Andreas August Friedrich Nissen (late 19th century), whose daughter Alwine Schulze-Nissen arranged for the establishment of the foundation after her death. The foundation provides financial support to young people starting their own businesses, students and trainees in financial distress, as well as school development projects. It grants interest-free loans and non-repayable subsidies to enable sustainable educational and entrepreneurial initiatives.
