About the funder

The Anneliese Brost Foundation is a non-profit foundation under civil law based in Essen. Founded in 2002 by the publisher Anneliese Brost, it merged in 2008 with the Erich and Anneliese Brost Foundation. Since its inception, the foundation has supported over 150 projects in the Ruhr area and beyond, consolidating both the allocation of funding and its own operational projects. Its focus is on supporting innovative, cooperative, and forward-looking initiatives in the fields of youth and elderly care as well as arts and culture.

Mission & Vision

The foundation is committed to strengthening disadvantaged children, adolescents, and elderly people, while simultaneously promoting cultural diversity through lectures, exhibitions, and innovative educational models. Its goal is to provide unbureaucratic, timely, and impact-oriented support, with the participatory youth council actively involving young people in decision-making processes, thereby enabling their co-creation of the funding activities.

Target groups

Funding programs and projects are aimed at children and young people from socially disadvantaged or broken families in the Ruhr area and surroundings; needy elderly people in public health and elderly care services; non-profit organizations, associations, schools, youth and elderly care institutions as well as cultural initiatives; artists, educators, and support personnel in cooperation with the foundation for the implementation of their own projects.
