About the funder

The Arthur and Georgie Illies Family Foundation is a legally recognized civil law foundation established in 1998 in Lüneburg by Anke Maria Müller-Illies. It is dedicated to the preservation, research, and presentation of the oeuvre of the painter and graphic artist Arthur Illies (1870–1952) and his wife Georgie Illies. The foundation manages a collection of over 210 paintings, partly sole ownership and partly co-ownership of the estate, and supports numerous exhibitions, restorations, and publications on the life and work of Illies, as well as the conservation of unknown works. It is a non-profit organization authorized to issue donation receipts.

Additionally, the foundation addresses art and culture enthusiasts interested in Northern German art history and Art Nouveau graphics.
