About the funder
Since its founding on November 23, 1989, the Barsinghausen Citizens' Foundation has developed into a solid pillar within the social fabric of Barsinghausen. Initiated by Siegfried Hähling with a founding capital of 50,000 DM, the foundation today has capital exceeding €1.2 million and supports people in financial distress as well as civic engagement in an unbureaucratic manner. The board and foundation council work on a voluntary basis; there are no administrative costs – every donated euro goes directly to the foundation’s purposes.

Mission & Vision
Together we are strong: The Barsinghausen Citizens' Foundation supports social projects and volunteer engagement in Barsinghausen, connects citizens, and contributes to improving the quality of life in our city through transparent, politically independent actions.
Target groups
The foundation is aimed at people in Barsinghausen who are experiencing financial hardship, as well as at local charitable and volunteer initiatives. Its goal is to provide straightforward support to both individuals and groups and to strengthen civic engagement.
