About the funder
The Bavarian Transformation and Research Foundation is a public-law foundation of the Free State of Bavaria. It promotes application-oriented research and development in all future technologies with the aim of promptly transferring scientific results into marketable products and processes. Its broadly designed programs are open to companies of all sectors and sizes as well as to research institutions and universities in Bavaria. Since its establishment, over 1,000 projects have been supported with a funding volume of approximately EUR 614 million.

Mission & Vision
The foundation's mission is to accelerate technological innovation in Bavaria by promoting and financially supporting collaborations between science and industry. It sees itself as a supportive partner, assisting applicants through advisory services and straightforward procedures to minimize the effort involved in applying for funding and to maximize the success chances of the projects.
Target groups
Funding is provided to companies of all sizes with headquarters, operations, or branches in Bavaria, members of the liberal professions, universities, and non-university research institutions in Bavaria, as well as consortia consisting of at least one company and at least one scientific partner. The programs are technology- and industry-neutral and are particularly aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises.
