The Bavarian State Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Tourism (StMELF) is a state ministry based in Munich. It is responsible for the livelihoods of Bavarian society: food, forest and cultural landscape, agriculture, rural areas, and Bavaria as a tourism destination. The ministry sets framework conditions at the state, federal, and EU levels, supports businesses with programs and projects, and promotes education, training, and further education in agricultural and forestry professions as well as home economics. Mission & Vision
The StMELF sees itself as a pace-setter for a forward-looking, sustainable policy for nutrition, agriculture, forestry, and tourism in Bavaria. Target groups are agricultural enterprises, forestry and forest owners, beekeeping operations and beekeeping associations, vintners, livestock holders, tourism infrastructure businesses, as well as educational and advisory institutions in the agricultural and forestry sectors.
