Mission & Vision
The BSFZ aims to strengthen Germany as a location for innovation by providing companies of all sizes and legal forms with a simple, legally binding certification of the eligibility of their R&D projects in accordance with the FZulG. Through a clearly structured, free, and fully digital process, the barrier to claiming the tax research allowance is to be minimized and entrepreneurial research and development promoted.
Target groups
The target group of BSFZ comprises all companies subject to taxation in Germany – from start-ups and SMEs to larger corporations – that carry out research and development projects. Eligible applicants are taxpayers within the meaning of the Income Tax Act and Corporation Tax Act who are not exempt from taxation. Companies operating at a loss may also apply for the research allowance, provided their R&D projects comply with the statutory requirements.
