About the funder
The BFS/ESaK Foundation is a non-profit private foundation based in Maintal, founded on December 13, 2007, and recognized by the Darmstadt Regional Council on December 17, 2007. Its initial capital amounted to EUR 250,000 at the time of establishment. The purpose of the foundation is to promote education and upbringing as well as science and research in all areas of refrigeration and air conditioning technology. The foundation fulfills this purpose primarily through the awarding of prizes, the granting of scholarships, and subsidies to public and non-profit institutions. Additional donations are possible from EUR 5,000, and from EUR 50,000 a specific purpose of use can be designated.
