About the funder

The Bioland Foundation is a legally recognized foundation under civil law based in Hamm. It originated in 2012 from a foundation fund of the Bioland Association for Organic-Biological Farming, which was established under the umbrella of GLS Treuhand e. V. The foundation's goal is to promote agriculture that is ecologically, economically, and socially sustainable. It is active in the fields of education, research, nature conservation, and consumer information, supporting innovative projects for the development and dissemination of nature- and animal-friendly cultivation methods. In doing so, it assists Bioland farmers, schools, educational institutions, and research facilities with training programs, grants, and scholarships.

Mission & Vision

"People, nature, land, and economy" – the Bioland Foundation is committed to preserving and advancing fertile soils, animal welfare-oriented husbandry, and valuable food products. Its guiding principle is: managing in harmony with nature secures our livelihoods and maintains a diverse cultural landscape. The foundation supports practice-oriented research, educational programs for farmers and consumers, as well as dialogue formats to strengthen public understanding of sustainable agriculture.

Target groups

The funding programs of the Bioland Foundation are primarily aimed at farmers and agricultural enterprises that wish to introduce or expand ecological production methods; educational institutions and schools that impart agroecological knowledge; research institutions conducting practical studies in organic farming; as well as consumers and multipliers interested in raising awareness and sensitization regarding biodiversity, sustainability, and climate protection. The foundation supports individuals and groups with innovative and sustainable project ideas that contribute to the advancement of organic farming.
