About the funder

The Federal Ministry for Innovation, Mobility and Infrastructure (BMIMI), Section II – Mobility, Department II/1 Mobility Transition, is a federal authority that, together with the European Union, designs and implements funding programs for the climate-friendly transformation of the transport sector. The department is specifically responsible for measures promoting emission-free commercial vehicles and infrastructure (ENIN) as well as their establishment and expansion. As a central interface between national implementation and EU financing, it coordinates funding allocations, develops guidelines, and supports companies and consortia in the application process and project implementation.

Mission & Vision

Department II/1 Mobility Transition has the mission to accelerate the transformation of transport towards a climate-neutral and resource-efficient mobility system. It utilizes funding instruments to advance innovations in the field of zero-emission vehicles and infrastructure, to achieve the EU climate targets by 2050 and national objectives by 2040, and to establish Austria as a pioneer of a sustainable mobility transition.

Target groups

Eligible to apply and fundable are natural and legal persons established in Austria, outside the Austrian federal administration. In particular, companies and consortia from the fields of vehicle manufacturing and infrastructure development, which procure emission-free commercial vehicles or establish charging, overhead line, and refueling infrastructure, belong to the target group of the funding programs.
