The Brandenburg State Center for Civic Education is the central institution for extracurricular political education for youth and adults in the state of Brandenburg. Its task is to support people in actively participating in democratic society. It is affiliated with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the state of Brandenburg. The State Center provides fundamental, carefully researched information on current political and historical topics concerning Brandenburg. It organizes public evening events, exhibitions, and offers books and other materials that encourage engagement in Brandenburg. The work of the State Center is based on the organizational decree of December 2, 2019, which ensures the independence and nonpartisanship of the institution.

Individuals are not eligible for funding; however, associations, non-governmental and non-profit organizations, as well as recognized continuing education institutions, are eligible for support.
