About the funder

The Brougier-Seisser-Cleve-Werhahn Foundation is a non-profit, public foundation under civil law based in Munich, recognized in November 2007 and supervised by the Government of Upper Bavaria. It was established by Hannelore Cleve (née Seisser) in memory of personalities from her family (Adolf Brougier, Charlotte Seisser, Ludwig Seisser, Adolf Seisser, Hannelore Cleve). The foundation is financed through interest and dividends from its endowment capital and primarily fulfills its purposes by granting funding subsidies, work and study scholarships, awards, as well as project grants in the fields of art, culture, science, research, and monument preservation.

Mission & Vision

The BSCW Foundation is committed to the sustainable promotion of art, culture, science, research, and monument preservation. It awards scholarships for emerging talents and work, grants, as well as prizes, and supports exhibitions, readings, symposia, masterclasses, and theatrical performances. The aim is to strengthen creative and scientific projects, promote cultural diversity, and preserve cultural heritage in the long term.

Target groups

Funding is provided to domestic and foreign individuals as well as institutions from the humanities and artistic disciplines, including humanities scholars for work and study scholarships, early-career researchers and artists for promotional awards, musicians, authors, translators, composers, and visual artists for work scholarships, architects in the field of monument preservation, organizers of exhibitions, readings, symposia, master classes, and theater performances, as well as institutions and foundations active in the fields of art, culture, and monument preservation.
