About the funder
The BürgerStiftung Alfeld is a non-profit foundation under civil law, which since its establishment in 2005 has been supported by citizens, companies, and founding donors through endowments and donations. The foundation capital remains intact, and all proceeds are used to promote charitable projects in and around Alfeld (Leine). To date, approximately 430 initiatives in the areas of education, upbringing, youth, seniors, social affairs, customs, heritage preservation, art, culture, environmental protection, and international understanding have been supported with a total of over €810,000. Funded projects include, among others, first aid courses, music initiatives for day care centers and primary schools, environmental campaigns, playground and schoolyard designs, as well as social services such as the lunch program "Tischlein deck dich."

Mission & Vision
The BürgerStiftung Alfeld sees itself as a selfless intermediary between donors, sponsors, and volunteers on the one hand, and carefully selected projects on the other. It aims to strengthen the common good, promote voluntary engagement, and encourage citizens to take responsibility for their region – following the motto: "Don't ask what society can do for you, but what you can do for society!"
Target groups
The funding opportunities are aimed at non-profit organizations, associations, schools, daycare centers, initiatives, and volunteer project sponsors based in or connected to projects in Alfeld (Leine) and the surrounding area. Projects that provide a sustainable added value to the social, cultural, or ecological life of the region are supported.
