Bürgerstiftung Bayreuth Stadt & Land
About the funder
The Bürgerstiftung Bayreuth – City and Country was founded in 2010 with an endowment of 350,000 euros as a legally recognized foundation under civil law. It sees itself as an independent, non-profit organization with a regional focus that promotes the common good in the city and district of Bayreuth. With traditional cooperative values such as self-help, self-responsibility, and self-administration, the foundation mobilizes civic engagement and consolidates additional endowments, donations, and voluntary activities. The board and advisory council voluntarily decide on the annual allocation of grants to projects in the areas of education and upbringing, youth and family, culture and arts, environmental and nature conservation, monument protection, sports, social welfare, science, international understanding, democratic governance, and civic engagement.
