Bürgerstiftung Filderstadt

The Bürgerstiftung Filderstadt is a legally recognized foundation under civil law, established on July 8, 2004, by citizens, businesses, and the city of Filderstadt. It sees itself as a participatory foundation, whose assets are generated through numerous small and large endowments and donations from the public. Independent of individual major donors, it invests the returns from its foundation assets as well as additional donations in charitable projects in Filderstadt. To date, approximately €305,000 in foundation capital has been accumulated and over €85,000 in funding has been distributed. All activities are carried out on a voluntary basis.

The Bürgerstiftung Filderstadt aims to sustainably promote the community in Filderstadt and create livable conditions for all generations. Through financial and non-material support, it initiates and accompanies projects in the areas of civic engagement, children and youth, environmental and nature conservation, arts and culture, as well as social innovation and digitalization. It seeks to encourage citizens to take responsibility, contribute their ideas, and make their commitment to the common good effective.

Non-profit associations, initiatives, companies, and individuals in Filderstadt that align with the foundation's objectives are eligible for funding. This includes, in particular, volunteers and citizen initiatives, children and youth, as well as projects aimed at their social and professional integration, initiatives in environmental, nature, and climate protection, cultural, music, and sports projects, as well as social innovations and digitalization efforts. All project sponsors must demonstrate that their initiative has a sustainable, long-term model character and provides assistance for self-help.
