The Bürgerstiftung Jena Saale-Holzland is a non-profit civic foundation that has acted as a center for civic engagement since 2002. It connects voluntary commitment from individuals, associations, institutions, and companies, promotes local projects in the areas of youth and elderly care, environmental and nature conservation, education, arts and culture, as well as other charitable purposes, and supports initiatives that sustainably contribute to improving the quality of life in Jena and the Saale-Holzland district.

Mission & Vision
We aim to provide all people with the opportunity to participate in social life through voluntary and honorary engagement. As an independent foundation, we connect citizens, nonprofit organizations, politics, administration, and business to jointly create structures for civic engagement and to sustainably support local projects.
Target groups
The funding programs of the Bürgerstiftung are aimed at non-profit associations, initiatives, institutions, and companies in the Jena – Saale-Holzland area that pursue our statutory objectives in the fields of social participation, environmental protection, education, art, and culture. Project ideas may also be submitted by individuals, provided they are implemented with a non-profit organization.
