Bürgerstiftung Kuckuck – für biologische Vielfalt und naturwissenschaftliche Bildung im Naturpark Dümmer und seinen angrenzenden Gebieten

Non-profit organization

About the funder

The Bürgerstiftung Kuckuck is committed on a voluntary basis to the preservation and development of biological diversity in the Dümmer Nature Park and its surrounding areas, as well as to the promotion of scientific education. The foundation's board and council consist of dedicated nature enthusiasts from the Dümmer region, who minimize administrative costs. The foundation's capital is invested with a values-based approach at GLS Bank in projects related to organic farming, thereby generating a dual benefit: interest income supports nature conservation in the Dümmer Nature Park, while environmentally friendly agriculture is simultaneously promoted.

Mission & Vision

Our mission is to empower citizens to actively participate in nature and species conservation at the Dümmer. We promote scientific education and advocate for ecological agriculture and sustainable development in the region. Through broad citizen involvement and transparent administration, we aim to secure biodiversity in the long term and impart knowledge about nature.

Target groups

The offerings of the Bürgerstiftung Kuckuck are aimed at all nature-interested individuals, schools, associations, and initiatives in the Dümmer Nature Park and the surrounding municipalities. In particular, we seek to reach people of all ages who wish to actively engage in nature conservation, ecological agriculture, and science education. We invite local stakeholders to jointly implement projects to promote biodiversity.
