About the funder

The Bürgerstiftung Leipzig is an independent, non-profit foundation established by citizens for their city. Since 2004, over 200 donors have pooled their commitment and endowment to implement projects in Leipzig that promote social cohesion, equitable education, culture, the environment, and healthy development. The foundation initiates and supports its own projects such as “Die Wunderfinder,” “Cycling Without Age,” “Sugar Cone Campaign,” community singing in Johannapark, and many more. It operates in an unbureaucratic, transparent, and politically independent manner, holds the quality seal for citizen foundations, and regularly publishes annual and activity reports.
