About the funder

The Bürgerstiftung Lörrach is a non-profit foundation "by citizens for citizens," founded in July 2002 as the first community foundation in the Freiburg administrative district. It is politically and economically independent as well as non-denominational. On a voluntary basis, it is committed to a variety of innovative projects in Lörrach, particularly in the areas of child and youth support, education, upbringing, and urban development. Its flagship projects include language promotion in daycares, public bookcases, the raffle "Mit Los geht’s los," anti-bullying training, music sponsorships, the "Wiesionen" project, and the renovation of the historic town hall in Lörrach-Stetten, which also serves as the seat of the Bürgerstiftung.

Mission & Vision

The Bürgerstiftung Lörrach aims to strengthen the community of the city. It promotes civic engagement and innovative projects that make a sustainable contribution to cultural diversity, education, and social participation. Independently and on a voluntary basis, we want to provide citizens with a platform to actively commit themselves to their city and to realize shared ideas for the future.

Target groups

The funding programs of the Bürgerstiftung Lörrach are aimed at all citizens of the city of Lörrach.
