Bürgerstiftung Region Rendsburg

The Bürgerstiftung Region Rendsburg – founded in 2006 – is an independent, autonomously operating, and non-profit foundation established by citizens for citizens in the Rendsburg region. Its statutory purpose is sustainable, long-term commitment to the community. The foundation primarily supports and initiates projects in the fields of youth and elderly care, arts, culture and monument preservation, environmental and landscape protection, science and research, as well as education and training. It complements the work of public authorities through interest income from the foundation’s capital and donations and advocates for aid to self-help and voluntary engagement. In 2008, the foundation received the Bürgerstiftung quality seal, which was renewed for a further three years in 2016.

The Bürgerstiftung Region Rendsburg is committed to strengthening the common good, mobilizing the forces of innovation, and encouraging citizens as well as businesses to take shared responsibility for their community. By acquiring endowments and donations, it creates the foundation to promote projects and measures that fulfill its charitable and benevolent foundation purposes in a long-term and sustainable manner. The foundation supports existing initiatives and new volunteer engagement, complementing the services of the public sector without replacing them.

Funding applications can only be submitted by charitable and non-profit associations or organizations from the Rendsburg region. The projects must be in the fields of youth and elderly care, arts and culture, environmental and landscape protection, science and research, or education and training. Individuals, clubs, and initiatives that aim to strengthen the local community in a long-term and sustainable manner are explicitly encouraged to apply.
