About the funder
The Bürgerstiftung Weinheim is a non-profit, non-partisan, and denominationally independent foundation under civil law, based in Weinheim. Since its establishment in 2005, it has mobilized civic engagement and pooled private resources for the benefit of the city. Projects beyond the scope of state-mandated tasks are supported from the proceeds of the foundation’s capital and donations, including in the fields of education, youth and elderly care, culture and monument preservation, environmental and nature conservation, democratic governance, international understanding, as well as charitable purposes. The foundation continuously builds capital, awards grants, manages trust foundations, and places the highest value on transparency and quality in its work.

Mission & Vision
As "Citizens for Citizens," the Bürgerstiftung Weinheim serves the common good, strengthens the local community, promotes civic responsibility, and mobilizes innovation. This includes individuals, groups, or organizations pursuing innovative and exemplary approaches in the funded areas and aiming to strengthen the community and quality of life in Weinheim. Priority is given to model initiatives with a local focus.
