Bürgerstiftung zivita
About the funder
Bürgerstiftung zivita is a legally recognized foundation under civil law based in Zittau. Founded on July 6, 2004, by over 50 committed citizens, its goal is to make voluntary engagement in the Görlitz district and Upper Lusatia visible and to honor it. Using the proceeds from its endowment capital, fines, and additional donations, it supports charitable projects in the fields of culture, youth, education, charitable causes, environment, and animal protection. The foundation awards the Citizen Prize, the Sponsorship Prize, as well as special initiatives—such as thank-you and support campaigns during the COVID-19 pandemic—and supports associations and individuals in an unbureaucratic and impact-oriented manner.
