Bürgschaftsbank Nordrhein-Westfalen GmbH (BB NRW) is an established credit guarantee institution and a self-help organization for the medium-sized economy in North Rhine-Westphalia. Its sponsors are chambers, associations, and credit institutions. Through default guarantees and guarantees of up to €2 million, it replaces missing collateral for bank and KfW loans. It supports business start-ups, business successions, as well as the growth and stabilization of small and medium-sized enterprises. In the 2023 financial year, 267 guarantees with a total volume of €104 million were approved, thereby realizing financing projects of over €350 million. This resulted in the creation of 595 new jobs and the securing of more than 4,400 existing jobs.

Our mission is to strengthen small and medium-sized enterprises in North Rhine-Westphalia with tailored guarantees and sureties. We create financial leeway by choosing opportunity in uncertain situations, supporting innovative projects, and thereby securing jobs sustainably and enabling growth.

Our target groups are small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in North Rhine-Westphalia that require collateral for bank and promotional loans, founders during start-up or business acquisition, entrepreneurs in succession situations, established companies in growth or crisis phases, as well as banks, savings banks, lessors, and consultants as financing partners.
