About the funder

The Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN) is the central scientific authority of the Federal Republic of Germany for national and international nature conservation. It supports the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection in all matters related to nature conservation and landscape management. The BfN is responsible for the implementation of nature conservation laws and regulations, the promotion of nature conservation projects, and the provision of scientific foundations for nature conservation.
