Mission & Vision
The Adult Education Department is committed to ensuring equal access to lifelong learning and basic education opportunities for all individuals living in Austria, regardless of age, origin, or formal qualifications. We promote low-threshold and innovative educational formats to strengthen the population's skills, guarantee equal opportunities, and support sustainable employment integration.
Target groups
The funding primarily targets disadvantaged and low-skilled adults aged 15 and over with insufficient basic education or without a compulsory school leaving certificate. This includes individuals with a migration background, older employees, long-term unemployed persons, re-entrants, as well as socially and regionally disadvantaged groups. The programs aim to improve linguistic, mathematical, digital, and learning method competencies, as well as to prepare participants for obtaining formal educational qualifications.
