About the funder
Department II/ORK/10 (Crisis Management, Situation Information, and Control Center Affairs) is part of Section II "Directorate for Organization, Resource and Crisis Management" within the Federal Ministry of the Interior. Under the leadership of Wolfgang Nicham, BA MA, it coordinates the representation of the BMI in national, European, and international specialist and expert committees, develops guidelines and principles for training and further education in staff work and call centers, organizes the technical and legal infrastructure for situation centers including contingency quarters, and ensures security, occupational medical, and occupational psychological standards in 24/7 operations.

Mission & Vision
Department II/ORK/10 is tasked with strengthening internal security and civil protection through professional coordination, standardized situational information, and quality-assured control center and call center structures. Its objective is to detect crises at an early stage, develop uniform guidelines for staff work, and provide a reliable 24/7 contact point for security police and immigration matters in emergency situations.
Target groups
The target group comprises security police units at the federal and state levels, interministerial committees, national and European expert panels, as well as organizations involved in disaster control, fire brigades, aid, and rescue organizations. These actors require reliable situational awareness, coordinated procedures, and professional call center services for effective crisis management and civil protection.
