About the funder
The Department V/A/4 of the Federal Ministry of the Interior serves as the central administrative authority for the so-called Home Affairs Funds (AMIF, BMVI, ISF). It is responsible for the operational management of national funding in the field of migration, acts as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for all EU and international project financing, and represents the BMI in contractual agreements with partners such as UNHCR, IOM, or within the framework of Regional Development and Protection Programmes (RDPP). Furthermore, it coordinates administrative processes, ensures professional coordination in national and international committees, and guarantees that funding is used efficiently in accordance with the applicable guidelines.

Mission & Vision
Department V/A/4 pursues the mission of supporting an inclusive and legally compliant migration and asylum policy through targeted and responsible allocation of funding. Its goal is to effectively coordinate EU and international funding instruments as well as national resources to sustainably advance projects related to integration, quality assurance, and humanitarian aid.
Target groups
Civil society organizations, public institutions, and consortia implementing projects in the fields of asylum, migration, integration, and return are eligible for funding. This includes initiatives for procedural optimization, psychosocial support, training of interpreters and administrative staff, as well as cooperation with EU and international partners (such as UNHCR, IOM, or RDPP programs). The department addresses both applicants in Austria and Austrian project implementers in third countries.
