V. Founded on November 11, 1999, it supports projects that sustainably combat poverty, promote the integration of marginalized groups, and strengthen children, youth, and families. Since its inception, over 2,000 projects have been supported with approximately €14 million. The foundation awards grants and loans and collaborates in local and nationwide networks (including the Federal Association of German Foundations, Working Group of Caritas Foundations).

Mission & Vision
The CaritasStiftung in the Archdiocese of Cologne stands for Christian solidarity and compassion. Its goal is to recognize distress and alleviate it sustainably by supporting long-term projects that empower people in difficult life situations and promote social cohesion. We see ourselves as a community of donors who together make a positive impact.
Target groups
Primarily funded are institutions and organizations that are members of the Diocesan Caritas Association for the Archdiocese of Cologne e. V., as well as other tax-privileged or public-law entities within the Archdiocese of Cologne that support church-related charitable activities. In exceptional cases, individuals in need may also be supported. The main funding priorities are poverty alleviation, the integration of marginalized groups, and the strengthening of youth and family.
