About the funder

The Carl-Hans Graf von Hardenberg Foundation was established in 1997 by Astrid Countess von Hardenberg in memory of her father. It is a non-profit foundation that supports projects for children, adolescents, and young adults in Märkisch-Oderland as well as neighboring areas (including across the German-Polish border). Its focus areas are preventive and educational measures, support for individual talents in training and further education programs, and the promotion of historical awareness and civic courage. The foundation supports both individuals and local institutions, especially Christian-oriented organizations involved in child and youth work.

Mission & Vision

The Carl-Hans Graf von Hardenberg Foundation is committed to providing children, adolescents, and young adults with impulses for personal and social development. Projects with a preventive, educational, or education-expanding character in the fields of language, culture, history, science, art, and sports are supported. The goal, alongside professional development, is to impart a sense of responsibility, mutual respect, and civic courage.

Target groups

The funding programs are aimed at children, adolescents, and young adults in the Märkisch-Oderland district and neighboring districts, including cross-border projects on the Polish side of the Oder. Support is provided both to individual young talents whose parents cannot afford certain educational opportunities, and to local institutions and organizations, especially those with a Christian orientation, that organize child and youth work, historical awareness, or cross-border exchange.
