Children for a better World e.V.
About the funder
Children for a better World e.V. (CHILDREN) is a donation-funded, non-profit children's aid organization based in Munich. Since its founding in 1994 by Gabriele Quandt and Dr. Florian Langenscheidt, it has been committed to combating the consequences of child poverty, promoting political, ecological, and social self-initiatives by children and adolescents, encouraging children's participation in the allocation of funding, and strengthening democratic education. Its central programs ENTDECKER, JUGEND HILFT, KINDERBEIRAT, and GENERATION GERMANY aim to promote equal opportunities, engagement, and participation among young people. For its transparent and impact-oriented approach, CHILDREN has received numerous awards, including the PwC Transparency Award, the German Founders' Award, the Westphalian Peace Prize, and a top ranking from Stiftung Warentest.

Mission & Vision
Our goal is for all children and young people in Germany – regardless of their background – to have equal opportunities and to confidently develop their potential. We support strong, committed young individuals who implement their own ideas and actively contribute to a just, sustainable, and democratic society.
Target groups
CHILDREN is aimed at children and young people in Germany, particularly children from socially disadvantaged urban hotspot districts (ENTDECKER program), young people between 6 and 21 years old who implement self-initiated political, ecological, or social projects (JUGEND HILFT program), children and young people who independently decide on funding as members of the CHILDREN'S ADVISORY BOARDS, as well as young people interested in democracy education who participate in the GENERATION GERMANY program.
