About the funder

The Climate Concept Foundation is a non-profit foundation based in Germany that has been dedicated since 2011 to reducing greenhouse gases and protecting ecologically valuable habitats. It acquires and permanently holds certificates in the European Emissions Trading System to reduce allowable emissions. Furthermore, it is involved in habitat protection and enhancement projects, supports natural and social science research initiatives on climate change, and acts as an "advocate for ecology" at the national, European, and UN levels in support of ambitious climate policy.

Mission & Vision

The Climate Concept Foundation aims to stabilize greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere at a level that prevents dangerous anthropogenic climate disruptions. It promotes the preservation and resilience of ecosystems, supports evidence-based climate research, and influences political decisions to ensure sustainable development and a climate-compatible economy.

Target groups

The funding programs and activities of the Foundation are aimed at operators of the EU Emissions Trading System who surrender certificates; nature conservation and habitat protection projects; scientists and research institutions in the fields of climate, ecology, and environmental economics; as well as political decision-makers at the national, European, and UN levels, and civil society climate protection organizations.
