Daniel-Theysohn-Stiftung
About the funder
The Daniel-Theysohn Foundation was established in 1970 by the entrepreneur Daniel Theysohn (1904–1980) and his wife Ruth as a private funding foundation. Starting with an initial capital of 250,000 DM, the foundation developed into a significant funding institution in the Southwest Palatinate. During the founders' lifetimes, shares in the plastics company Tehalit were also contributed to the foundation's capital, substantially increasing its financial resources. The foundation primarily supports the educational and vocational training of young people and, insofar as funds are available, projects in environmental and nature conservation, animal welfare, monument preservation, sports, and local heritage preservation in the Palatinate region, with a focus on the former district of Pirmasens.
