Deutsche Kinderkrebsstiftung
About the funder
The German Children's Cancer Foundation is a non-profit foundation based in Bonn. For decades, it has supported children and adolescents with cancer as well as their families through extensive services: from psychosocial support, clinical aftercare facilities such as the Waldpiraten Camp and the Sylt Clinic, to financial assistance (social funds, monetary penalties), and the promotion of application-oriented clinical and translational research in pediatric oncology and hematology. Annually, over €10 million is invested in research projects, and around 85% of children and adolescents with cancer can now be cured. The foundation finances its work through donations, fines allocations, and major donations, and maintains a network of volunteer patient representatives.

Mission & Vision
The German Childhood Cancer Foundation is committed to decisively improving the chances of cure, therapies, and psychosocial support for children and adolescents with cancer. Our goal is to comprehensively support families during the most difficult times and to sustainably improve the future prospects of those affected through targeted research funding. We believe in the power of science, community, and empathy to make childhood cancer fully curable in the future.
Target groups
The funding programs and services are aimed at children, adolescents, and young adults with cancer, their siblings, and family members. In addition, the foundation supports physicians and researchers in pediatric oncology and hematology, as well as survivors and relatives as patient representatives in the research process. Our commitment encompasses both affected individuals and their families in emergency situations, as well as professional circles conducting applied clinical studies and psychosocial projects.
