Deutsche Kinderturn-Stiftung
About the funder
The Deutsche Kinderturn-Stiftung was founded in the summer of 2007 on the initiative of the German Gymnastics Federation and the German Gymnastics Youth. As a legally recognized foundation under civil law based in Frankfurt am Main, it pursues charitable purposes to promote children's gymnastics and the encouragement of physical activity among children in Germany. It raises funds to support impactful projects nationwide, develops inclusive movement programs, and promotes scientific studies to optimize physical activity offerings. The foundation works closely with clubs, schools, daycare centers, regional associations, and other partners to provide as many children as possible with access to physical activity and to build sustainable networks at the local level.

Mission & Vision
The Deutsche Kinderturn Foundation is committed to raising public awareness of the fundamental importance of movement for the healthy, holistic development of children. Guided by the principles of "perspective creators" and "opportunity makers," it supports projects and pilot initiatives that strengthen children in their physical, mental, and social development, open up new perspectives, and ensure equal opportunities—regardless of background or disabilities.
Target groups
The funding programs of the Deutsche Kinderturn-Stiftung are aimed at children of preschool and primary school age (mostly 3–7 years), clubs, schools, daycare centers, and other institutions that offer movement activities, as well as trainers and educational professionals who wish to implement inclusive movement programs, and project sponsors and researchers who develop and disseminate concepts and studies on promoting physical activity. The foundation supports projects with nationwide impact and modular, scalable initiatives to enable as many children as possible—regardless of background or disability—to participate in children’s gymnastics and to create sustainable networks.
