About the funder
The German Foundation for Peace Research (DSF) is a capital-funded foundation under civil law recognized as a non-profit organization, established in October 2000 by the Federal Republic of Germany. It promotes peace and conflict research in Germany without conducting its own scientific investigations. Its core tasks include the promotion and initiation of scientific projects, the organization of national and international conferences, the support of early-career researchers, as well as networking and knowledge transfer between science, politics, and society.

Mission & Vision
The DSF is committed to promoting peaceful coexistence among people and nations and to creating conditions that prevent war, hunger, oppression, and human rights violations. It strengthens the foreign and security policy significance of peace research and contributes to its political and financial independence in order to preserve the natural foundations of life in the long term and protect future generations.
Target groups
The funding programs of the DSF are aimed at universities, research institutes, scholars, and early-career researchers in the field of peace and conflict studies in Germany. Supported are research projects, academic conferences, networking and transfer projects, as well as special and exceptional programs that address innovative concepts, contribute to the structural development of the research field, and provide results for policy and societal advisory services.
