About the funder

The Deutsche Stiftung UWC is the German national committee of the international educational movement United World Colleges. It is responsible for the selection, funding, and support of German scholarship recipients at the 18 UWC colleges worldwide. In addition to allocating places, it organizes short programs in Germany and promotes intercultural exchange among young people. The foundation is financed through donations from alumni, families, foundations, as well as public funds, and places a focus on needs-based scholarship allocation regardless of the financial background of the applicants.

Mission & Vision

UWC makes education a force that unites people, nations, and cultures in the pursuit of peace and a sustainable future.

Target groups

The funding opportunities are aimed at motivated young people and young adults from Germany aged approximately 14 to 19 who are interested in intercultural learning, social engagement, and sustainability. Additionally, alumni, parents, and teachers are involved in events and networking activities to support and promote the UWC movement in the long term.
