Diakonie-Stiftung "Nächstenliebe in Einbeck"

Religious organization

About the funder

The Diakonie Foundation Nächstenliebe was established in 2009 by the three Evangelical Lutheran parishes and the Diaconal Work of the Einbeck church district. Its foundation capital amounts to approximately 520,000 euros, from which around 16,000 euros are paid out annually to people in need in the core city of Einbeck. The purpose of the foundation is to promote diaconal work in Einbeck – primarily through grants to the Diaconal Work, support for diaconal projects, and direct individual assistance in acute emergencies when other aid options have been exhausted.

Mission & Vision

Our goal is to provide rapid, unbureaucratic, and free assistance to people in acute emergency situations. We support diaconal work locally and create a sustainable foundation ("in perpetuity") for grants that improve the lives of people in Einbeck. In doing so, we work closely with church services, volunteers, and municipal partners to implement a diverse range of support services.

Target groups

The Diakonie Foundation Nächstenliebe is aimed at needy citizens of the city of Einbeck and its surroundings. This includes: people in acute emergency and separation situations (e.g., single parents, women undergoing separation); elderly citizens with low pension income and at risk of old-age poverty; refugees and newcomers within the framework of the project "New Neighbors"; individuals and families for whom other sources of assistance have been exhausted.
