Founded in 1994 by the Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale and the Öffentliche Versicherung Braunschweig, the foundation is headquartered in the House of the Braunschweigische Stiftungen in Braunschweig. With an endowment of 50 million euros (as of 2014), it supports projects that have a regional connection to the Braunschweig region. The foundation promotes through consultation, mediation, and financial support, including scholarships and awards.
