About the funder
The Mannheimer Bürgerstiftung was founded in 1998 by committed citizens of Mannheim as a legally capable foundation under civil law, based in Mannheim. Its purpose is to promote community work in Mannheim in the areas of education, culture, international understanding, environmental protection, youth and elderly care, healthcare, and welfare services. The foundation particularly supports new initiatives in their start-up phase through temporary financial grants to enable their independent development and consolidation. Through funding competitions such as "Mensch miteinander!" it helps to make civic engagement visible and to strengthen sustainable social networks.

Mission & Vision
The Mannheim Citizens' Foundation is committed to making Mannheim a more livable city by highlighting and actively promoting civic engagement. Our goal is to bring together people of diverse backgrounds, ages, and social milieus and to strengthen innovative projects that improve community life. We believe in the power of citizenship as a driving force for sustainable change and provide initiatives with a platform for networking, public visibility, and financial support.
Target groups
The funding programs of the Mannheimer Bürgerstiftung are aimed at all citizens, associations, initiatives, and non-profit organizations in Mannheim who are engaged voluntarily or on a project basis for the common good. In particular, projects that pursue an innovative, inclusive, or sustainable approach and contribute to the social, cultural, or ecological development of the city are supported.
