Die Senatorin für Kinder und Bildung

The Senator for Children and Education is the highest authority for school and education policy in the city-state of Bremen. As a senatorial department (comparable to a Ministry of Education in other federal states), it is responsible for all early childhood education, general and vocational schools, as well as the associated administration and advisory services. The authority is divided into three departments (Central Services, Education, Children) and a Senator’s office. Its remit includes, among others, the State Institute for Schools, the Institute for Quality Development in the State of Bremen, and regional advisory and support centers.
